January 2013

Today I’m starting the POPilates January calendar and am gonna try to power through it.
2013 goals are pretty much the same as always: continue to work on getting and staying healthy.
Maybe this’ll help me stay on track; every time I get busy with work and school I stop thinking about my health which obviously is no good. So….here we go!

And part of that is because my core is deciding it can finally start to pull its weight.
This has been a summer of successes, even if I took a couple of weeks off.
Excited about this.
To you guys out there who “fall off the wagon,” take this as encouragement! It doesn’t have to completely end just because you’ve had a bad week/month/day/whatever.

So little blogging here!
Spending more time on my personal blog.
I suppose it’s time for an update:
Trying to eat more intuitively,
And feel less like total crap. As always.
I’ve noticed my biggest issue is hydration, and snacking when the TV is on.
So, now it’s time to be conscious of that.
Just finished a super long bike ride.
A session with pop pilates is overdue…now that the floor is clean enough to do it in my room after procrastinating after fully moving back home.
It’s good to be back.
And it’s GREAT that it’s not 100 degrees outside!
Well, since coming back from camp almost a month ago, I’ve fallen back into bad habits, eating fast food for almost every meal, having bad sleep habits, and barely exercising. Also not practicing oboe or making reeds. This is default for me, and I always have to remind me that I feel better when I just do things right. I just want this to be the norm for me. Picking up where I left off mid June, starting today.
Realized too that it’s really hard for me to do this without logging things. Gahhh. Old habits die hard.

It was sort of tough to get a lot of exercise in North Carolina, and I had no real way to keep track of intake and output because I was on top of a mountain without technology, but all the meals there were cooked by real people and were real food and also I had like 2 oranges a day and walked around huge hills in the mountains and got good sleep, so I have confidence that this week at oboe camp was not a hindrance to my goals. Plus I’ve lost another pound!
It was weird not having internet or cell service, but kind of nice after a couple days.
Now back to real life….
Intake: 1718

Meh.
My dad:
He likes to make snide comments about my weight loss, and then complain about his own unhealthiness without ever making any effort to permanently change.
Intake: 1496
Output: -372
BMR: 1530.65
Total defecit: 406.65
Almost took a total rest day but a nap boosted my energy significantly. Yay naps! Did leave out the biking, though, because it rained ALL DAY.

Meh. There was pizza/general junk involved today. There was also fruit and water involved today so that’s good. I’ve realized that 1500 cal a day is probably a bit low, especially since you’re supposed to eat above your BMR. I did some more research today, and I think I’ll up to 1600-1700 depending on how I feel, since that seems to be where I can feel okay to work more/not feel hungry all the time. A little is good but not that much. It’ll also probably be okay since I usually do more than an hour workout a day, and I don’t count my other daily activities in my output.
Starting to worry a bit about going to oboe camp next Friday. I’ll be gone for a week without internet, so no 30ds. I’m sure food will be okay, but I’m a *bit* worried about exercise. Maybe I’ll find some time to run on campus. Also I’m hoping there will be quite a bit of walking involved.
